Biogas plant Jezera is designed as one-stage anaerobic digestion of organic substrate in a mesophyll temperature regime.
Biogas is burned in a co-generation unit with a power of 1 MW. Heat energy from co-generation is used for heating of fermenter and farm stables while the rest is transported via district heating system to residential houses of Jezero village and to the regional hospital Murska Sobota. On the roof of the landfill for dry manure, there is an electro-voltaic station 50 kW that empowers electric motors of biogas plant. Substrate of the biogas plant is manure water, green mass and glycerol. The rest (sludge) from the process of biogas is used as an organic fertilizer on the fields.
